It is the goal of a business enterprise to have its products purchased by customers. It is the money gotten from customers that would be used to keep the business alive and running. However, not all customers would be able to pay immediately for the goods and services acquired. These customers would acquire the goods and services on credit, with the promise to pay at a future date. A business enterprise has to ensure that it follows up on these late payers.
Late payers have to be followed up as every penny is needed to keep a business alive and running. If late payers are not followed up, they could end up not paying for the goods and services acquired. This would therefore mean that the business enterprise would run at a loss. Successful business enterprises always ensure that late payers pay for the goods and services acquired.
